As of the April 2009 version: This application now uses SlimDX. SlimDX is a free DirectX wrapper that allows for use of the latest versions of DirectX in managed applications. There are two options for downloading and installing Evan's Image Editor.
Option 1: Download EIE.zip (8,874 kB) which contains the installers for both SlimDX and EIE.
Option 2: Download and install SlimDX from here. Then download EIENoSlimDX.zip (735 kB). If you already have the latest version of SlimDX installed, then the second download (EIENoSlimDX.zip) will be all you need.
Final Notes: If the application does not run after installation, get the latest version of DirectX9 (even if you think you already have it) and upgrade your video card drivers.
